Article Submission Guidelines

To give your article the best chance of being published, please abide by the following recommendations -

  • The article must NOT have been to submitted to or published by any other publications.
  • a minimum of two and a half pages of text in a standard word document using a size 10 or 11 appropriate font . We accept any word processing documents, whether they be MS Word, Notepad txt files, PDFs etc
  • a minimum of six digital high quality photos to accompany your article. JPG, BMP or PNG are all fine.
  • Pictures are to have a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and named in sequence.
  • Within your article, specify where you wish the photos to be displayed. For example - "insert pic1.jpg here"
  • Provide captions for your photos. For example - "pic1.jpg: The view from my tent as I awoke each morning"
  • Video can also be supplied but is not totally necessary.

We accept the following article types -

  • Hunting Stories - any type of story can be submitted whether it is a local or overseas trip, guided or self-guided, hunting the humble rabbit or an exotic species.
  • Product / Service Reviews - any type of review relating to the hunting and shooting industry. The review must reflect your honest personal opinion of the product / service.
  • Photographs of anything shooting related - trophies, live game, scenery shots etc.

Payments for articles included up to the August 2010 issue, are as follows -

  • Hunting Stories - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $250 AUD if published by Hunter's Aim
  • Product Reviews - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $125 AUD if published by Hunter's Aim
  • Photographs - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $25 AUD or a prize of equal value if published by Hunter's Aim

Payments for articles included in September 2010 and thereafter, are as follows -

  • Hunting Stories - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $150 AUD if published by Hunter's Aim
  • Product Reviews - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $100 AUD if published by Hunter's Aim
  • Photographs - a gift voucher redeemable at the HA Shop valued to $10 AUD or a prize of equal value if published by Hunter's Aim

As well as the payments above, the article voted most popular by our readers will also receive a prize determined by The HA team.

Articles will be reviewed by the HA team and the author will be notifed in a timely fashion whether their submitted artile is acceptable. If deemed suitbable, HA will also give an approximate publishing date.
